Terms of Service
Last updated October 3, 2026
These are the terms for using Coach. We've tried to write them the same way we wrote the Privacy Policy — plainly, saying what we actually mean, not burying it in boilerplate. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these terms.
Coach is a training and practice tool. It is not flight instruction, it does not replace a certificated flight instructor, and completing a lesson in the app does not mean you are ready for a checkride or safe to fly a given procedure in real conditions.
01What Coach is — and isn't
Coach helps pilots practice and get objective feedback on instrument procedures, scenarios, and flying skills, using a flight simulator (X-Plane or Microsoft Flight Simulator) as the platform. Grading, scoring, and feedback are generated by the app against coded procedures and scoring rules we built — they are a practice aid, not a certification of competency, not a substitute for ground or flight instruction from a certificated instructor, and not an endorsement that you meet any regulatory requirement. You remain solely responsible for your own training, currency, and decisions as a pilot.
02Accounts
- You need an account to use most of Coach, including any subscription features and flight history.
- You're responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials (or, if you use Sign in with Apple or Google, access to that account) secure, and for activity that happens under your account.
- You must give us accurate information when creating an account, and keep it reasonably up to date.
- You can ask us to delete your account and its data at any time — see the Privacy Policy for how.
03Subscriptions and purchases
- Some features require an active subscription, purchased through the App Store (or, on Android, Google Play).
- Subscriptions auto-renew until canceled — pricing, billing, and cancellation are handled by Apple/Google directly through your App Store/Play account, under their own terms, not ours.
- We don't process your payment details ourselves; the platform (Apple or Google) tells us your entitlement status so the app can unlock the features you paid for.
- Refunds are handled by Apple/Google under their own policies — we don't control or override those.
04Acceptable use
While using Coach, you agree not to:
- Use the app for anything unlawful, or in a way that violates another person's rights.
- Try to access another pilot's account, data, or flights without authorization.
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or interfere with the app or the services it depends on, beyond what's needed for your own normal use.
- Misrepresent grading or progress generated by Coach as an official certification, endorsement, or sign-off from a certificated instructor — it isn't one, and presenting it as one to a DPE, instructor, or employer would be a misrepresentation on your part, not ours.
05Your content and flight data
Flights you record, notes you add, and similar data you create in Coach remain yours. By using the app, you let us store and process that data to run the service (grading, progress tracking, debriefs) and to improve it, as described in the Privacy Policy. If you connect your account to an instructor or school, you control which flights get shared with them.
06Intellectual property
Coach's software, lesson content, scoring logic, and branding belong to Project 1903 (or our licensors). Your subscription gives you a personal, non-transferable right to use the app — it doesn't give you ownership of any of that.
07No warranty
Coach is provided "as is." We work to keep grading accurate and the app reliable, but we don't guarantee the app, its content, or its grading will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose — including preparing for a specific checkride or regulatory requirement.
08Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Project 1903 isn't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Coach — including any decision you make as a pilot based on practice or feedback from the app. Coach is a ground-based training and practice tool; it is never to be used to operate an aircraft in flight.
09Termination
You can stop using Coach and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these terms, including the acceptable-use section above.
10Changes to these terms
If these terms change in a way that matters, we'll update the date at the top and make a reasonable effort to let you know in the app — the same commitment the Privacy Policy makes.
